The first time you go looking for the Palace of the Deceiver, you realise it is not a casual stop on your leveling route. It sits up in northern Kehjistan, in the Amber Sands, not far west of the Tarsarak Waypoint, but the real gate is difficulty. You need Torment, World Tier 4+, before the place even matters. Once it is unlocked, fast travel drops you inside, which is a blessing when you are also juggling stash space, elixirs, and whatever Diablo 4 Items you are still chasing for your build.
Do not underestimate how much smoother the run feels if you prep before you click the altar. Cap Poison Resistance if you can, then add a bit of sustain you trust, not the kind that only works when everything is calm. Belial is a Greater Lair Boss, so he punishes sloppy movement. You will be dodging more than you are casting sometimes, and if your build has a mobility button on a long cooldown, you will notice it fast. Bring an elixir, clear your inventory, and assume you will need to reposition constantly.
Belial is not a stand-there-and-burn boss. He throws out clones that mess with your reads, and the arena gets ugly with poison and shadow pressure. You will catch yourself second-guessing targets, then eating damage because you hesitated. As his health drops, the pace jumps. The safe moments are short, so you want to save burst for those windows, then reset your feet before the next wave of nonsense starts. Solo runs are popular for a reason: no waiting for someone to respawn, no debating when to push, just you controlling the rhythm.
The loot loop here is the hook. Instead of a normal drop table, the kill spawns a chest that lets you choose which boss loot pool you want to roll, and that changes how you plan your night. The catch is the key item: Betrayer's Husks. It costs 2 Husks per open, and you mainly get them from Belial's Ambush events that can pop after you take down other lair bosses in the world. So the smart route is pretty straightforward: 1) farm other bosses to trigger ambushes and stock Husks, 2) cash them in at the Palace when you have a stack, 3) repeat until you hit the Unique you are missing.
If you are trying to keep the cycle going, think about materials as much as drops. Helltides and Whisper Caches help keep your summoning supply from drying up, and higher Torment tiers feel worth it for better odds on Ancestral and Mythic Uniques plus steady mats like Forgotten Souls and Veiled Crystals. When you are close to finishing a setup, plenty of players also use U4GM to buy game currency or items to patch the last gaps, so you can spend more time running Belial and less time stuck doing filler farming.
